Choose five of the following "Common Science Myths."

Research these myths and decide whether or not you agree with them. Explain why or why not, and back up your opinion with scientific proof (remember to cite where you got the information from -- but still write your opinion in your own words!).

  • Humans "pop" in space

  • Polaris is the brightest star in the northern hemisphere night sky

  • Food that drops on the floor is safe to eat if you pick it up within five seconds
